sabbaticals
ROUND THE WORLD
In 2013, I took a year long “coffee break” from Starbucks Coffee Company to travel the world with my husband and our eleven-year-old twins. Like true Pacific Northwesterners, we traveled with backpacks, starting In Japan, and making our way through Cambodia, Laos, Thailand, Germany, Austria, Argentina, Chile, Bolivia, and Peru. We stayed in youth hostels and traveled slowly, leaving time for “roadschooling” the kids and soaking in the local cultures. Read more about our trip here.

The memoir won third place in the Pacific Northwest Writers Conference 2018 Literary Contest. Read more here.
